Shot Blasting

Shot blasting provides a textured profile recommend for a variety of coatings while maintaining a dust free work area.

The Shot Blast Process

We are able to adjust the roughness of the profile by using different sizes of steel shot, adjusting the rate of travel and via machine setup. However, the biggest determining factor is the hardness of the concrete. Typically we can achieve a CSP of 3-5 via shot blasting.

A Tenacious Bond

Shot blasting leaves the surface rough and free of dust resulting in an exceptional bond for any coating.

Production

We typically utilize 480 volt, 3 phase 50 amp equipment. We can supply our own power via generators built into our box trucks at any jobsite where we can park within 200 ft of all work area(s). We are able to use larger commercial equipment in residential areas and minimize the downtime and expense of having an electrician hook up power in both residential and commercial settings.

Diamond Grinding

When a rough profile is not wanted, grinding is the preferred method to prep for thin film coatings, clear sealers and stains. Grinding removes surface contaminants while opening up the concrete so coatings/sealers will penetrate and create a strong mechanical bond.

A Versatile Prep Method

Diamond grinders are typically run with metal bond diamonds but there are a variety of attachments from PCD scrapers to remove thick coatings to carbide scrapers that will cut through gummy adhesives.
